awkward

awkward is a confessional apology for my occasional difficulty with conversation. thinking before speaking, sentence construction is mangled, ideas are mistranslated, and offenses are sometimes made. using an accordion structure of various colored papers, the front side of the pages contains the main text which is then scribbled out with machine sewing that also connects the pages together. the result is a small book that doesn't sit quite right, just as misspoken words can sometimes do. the back side of the book contains the quiet thoughts that occur during these uncomfortable conversations.

awkward was letterpress printed in an edition of 50 and comes nestled in a small box. printed on canson mi tientes using hand-set 42 pt. garamond and 10 pt. garamont.
